Yes or No

Decisions become easier when your will to please God outweighs your will to please the world. - Anso Coetzer

Sometimes when you make the wrong choice, it's disappointing. Always think through before you decide to act on it. You may regret it, you may not, but in the end- it always affects you- good or bad.

Going Back...

No event in American history is more misunderstood than the Vietnam War. It was misreported then, and it is misremembered now.- Richard Nixon Hey... he got one thing right

I wish I could go back to Vietnam, and more importantly, I wish I could speak Vietnamese. My mom tells me all these stories in Vietnam... she thinks she did not live that rich because her friend there was richer, but she had some money, if I do say... a mansion made with marble flooring... her father a CEO of a bank industry... I wish the war did not stop all of this. I mean, I'm not obsessed with money, but money is nice... at least I think so. If my grandparents could have carried it over into America, I would have been a millionaire... I would have grown up differently though and probably not would be typing this. My grandma and mom have the most interesting stories back in Vietnam, I should write them down more... I can't think of them right now, but if you ever want to hear one, just ask me.

If I ever did go to Vietnam, I think it would be incredible, although much has changed. Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon) has been transformed into a tourist mecha. They try to attract as many people for money, while trying to hide the destruction of the wake of Communism. It's sad really.

Vietnamese is a hard language too. All this tonal differences can make one word mean a dozen different things. This makes it one of the hardest languages in the world... I sometimes wish my mom taught me it when I was young, but she wanted me to learn English since I was growing up here in America.

Oh... and Vietnamese food is so good! Going there in buying from all the street vendors would be heaven. I would take Anthony Bourdain's job anyday. Travel to sight see, eat, and immerse in countries-all-around-the-world's cultures would be the best job. You get paid to eat... I mean c'mon... wouldn't that be amazing?

Vietnam, incredible history... incredible culture.
